Hello, I’m Chloe…

I’m obsessed with media. I can talk (or write) for hours about how we are influenced by what we watch, read, and hear. My favorites are old movies and new books; it’s intriguing and enlightening to examine how movies, music, and books of the past influence what we will consume in the future, and how those behind the camera or holding the pen shape our perception of ourselves and our surroundings.

When I’m not watching the big screen (or writing behind a smaller screen), I connect with nature. The beauty of the Pacific Northwest brought me all the way to Oregon from where I grew up in the Midwest. I celebrate my chosen home by hiking, camping, and seeking solace under the trees or on the coast.

If I still have free time after all of that, you can find me playing Dungeons & Dragons, reading Stephen King, weightlifting, or volunteering at the Hollywood Theater.

“Make me laugh. Make me cry. Tell me my place in this world. Lift me out of my skin and place me in another.

Show me places I have never visited and carry me to the ends of time and space. Give my demons names and help me to confront them.

Demonstrate for me possibilities I’ve never thought of and present me with heroes who will give me courage and hope.

Ease my sorrows and increase my joy. Teach me compassion.

Entertain and enchant and enlighten me.

Tell me a story.”
